Kendalyn Harris’ company Princess Parties was nominated for Nickelodeon’s Parents’ Picks award in the Best Party Entertainer category. Kendalyn asked me to produce a video asking parents for votes. Here it is:

Kendalyn does a great job with her parties and is an ideal client for me to work with. Not only is she personally kind, but she is clear about her needs and tries to see mine as well. She’s the consummate professional, but with a human approach that makes the business world bearable.

Take a moment to vote for her at parentsconnect.com if you get the chance.

I had the privilege of shooting an event recently that involved two of my clients. The Daddy Daughter Dance, hosted by Princess Parties, was held at The Castle in Layton, UT, which is a reception center with a modernized medieval theme. James Harris of Aquafect used some of his water displays to enliven the atmosphere both on the grounds and in the venue itself. the result was a fun, charming evening of carriage rides, princess stories, and dancing. Mandi Coombs of Silverscape Photography and Design, with others, provided a chance for kids to pose with their favorite princess.

I hope to post some footage soon.

Safety is paramount in the mining world, and Graymont wants to institute a new safety training curriculum with localized, company specific relevance. Terry Thompson, safety coordinator for Graymont, has asked me to be responsible for the audiovisual elements of that project, which will be updated yearly. The first part of that project got underway a couple of weeks ago.

The company has an impressive safety record already, and I look forward to contributing to its maintenance and improvement.

Aquafect is a great small company that does big things with water. Whether you need permanent water art, a beautiful blown glass fountain for an event, or a splash pad in a public area, James Harris and his team can help.

I recently had the privilege of creating this short loop for James to use at the annual Salt Lake Tribune Spring Home and Garden Show.

I did the motion graphics on this, including the main title and the background, and the video of the light-up fountain at the end. James supplied the other product video and the still images. The video in the middle is from Holdman Hot Glass, which makes the blown glass pieces Aquafect uses. I’m looking forward to working with the crew at Aquafect on more productions in the future.

I’ve been working closely with Mahonri Stewart of Zion Theatre Company, and we’re doing some exciting things. Among the projects we’re collaborating on are DVD and Blu-ray productions of ZTC’s stage plays, ad campaigns for those releases, designing the packaging for Mahonri’s radio plays, and some logo design.

We went through several different options, and I’ve attached the ones the good folks at ZTC finally settled on. The first is a main logo, and the other is a smaller version for situations where a high-detail image is impractical.

Main Logo - the right hand side is static, while the left side will change based on the production. The current images are from "Farewell to Eden"

Small logo - This verson is for DVD spines, tight spaces, and other uses that aren't friendly to high-detail images.

Look for information on the upcoming DVD and Blu-ray release of Farewell to Eden by Mahonri Stewart, ZTC’s first official production!

After way too long of not having my professional site up and running properly, I’m finally ready to announce that adamkk.com is open to the public! Although some elements are still in progress, there’s an actual page for every link and I’ve finally found a structure that will work for me. A big part of that is this blog, which will be updated frequently with news about my work, samples, images, and all kinds of good stuff.

You might be wondering what I’m going to do with Fruit Loops, my other professional blog, which links to the main company site. Well, for the time being that one will stay around and will focus on the development of the company, as well as offering a place for clients to check up on their projects and review them once they’re finished. This blog, on the other hand, is dedicated to enhancing my personal artistic portfolio outside of what the company officially does.

So for Fig Tree Creative Services, there’s Fruit Loops. For me as a freelancer and a person, there’s this.

Thanks for coming!
